Plain-language summary: Aila works primarily on your device. We do not sell your data, we do not serve ads, and we do not share your personal information with third parties. Voice and note data stays on your device unless you explicitly use a sync or export feature.

Information we collect

Aila is designed to minimise data collection. Here is what the app accesses:

Voice audio: Processed locally or via your device's speech recognition API to convert speech to text. Audio recordings are not stored or transmitted to Lumesoft servers.
Notes and tasks: Stored locally on your device. We do not have access to the content you create.
Notification preferences: Used only to deliver reminders you set. Not shared externally.
Crash and error data: Anonymous diagnostic information may be collected via Expo/React Native to help us fix bugs. This contains no personally identifiable information.

We do not collect names, email addresses, location data, or payment information.

Permissions used

RECORD_AUDIO

Used for voice-to-text note and task creation. Audio is processed to text only when you actively tap the microphone button. No audio is stored or uploaded.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Allows scheduled reminders and notifications to be restored after the device restarts.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Used to deliver reminders and task alerts that you configure within the app.

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO

Accessed only when you explicitly choose to attach a photo or video to a note. The app cannot access your gallery without your direct action.

How we use information

Information processed by Aila is used solely to provide the app's features to you. Specifically:

Voice audio is converted to text to populate your notes and tasks.
Notification data is used to send you reminders at times you choose.
Anonymous crash data is used to improve app stability.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the app.

Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. The only third-party services the app may interact with are:

Google Speech Recognition API — used for on-device or cloud speech-to-text, subject to Google's own privacy policy.
Expo / React Native framework — may collect anonymous crash diagnostics.

Children's privacy

Aila is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Data retention and deletion

All notes, tasks, and preferences are stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings. We do not retain copies of your content on external servers.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data associated with your use of Aila. Since data is stored locally, you can manage it directly through your device. For any other requests, contact us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
